Started this yesterday. Even though I have had most of the lumber since May. She hasn't decided if it will be a pirate hideout, princess tower, Flying Pony Stable, or possibly a Zombie Stronghold. Since she started reading the magic school house novels this summer this is even more exciting a project. Though now she is demanding that it be fully enclosed so it can double as her library. Work is on hold until I get my truck back from the shop. I can do 8 footers in the van but 12 footers don't fit so well.

She is very excited, though she expects it to be finished now. I believe I am at a stand still until I get paid again. I am thinking maybe a small porch swing underneath until I can get a new set of swings built as well. She can use it now though so there is happiness in abundance.

Ok since the build is on hold I can plan the rest of the basic structure. Not sure what type of roof to put on so I went into sketchup to try a few things. It is definitely easier to render made up shit than real life things. So here is what I have so far. And here is option one for the structure. Simple Salt Box roof, overhang on all four sides. Two small windows on each end, a picture window, and a slide door and small window on the fourth side.

Work Day #3 Down. Now I really do need to decide how I will be doing the roof. 24 and 1/3 2X4s for anyone who is wondering.
