Seems these threads are popular on other sites when complaining about certain characters. Unfortunately, moaning about Scott Neitlich seems to be a taboo topic seeing as he is a member on these sites, and has a lot of stroke there.
Well not here!
Post all your anti Toy Guru comments here! Be as venemous as you like, but please try to keep comments factual. I want to use this as a proof gathering thread as much as anything, just to show everyone and anyone why Scott Neitlich is the worst brand manager to ever work for a toy company.
Quoting Scott, then posting proof of his lies afterwards is probably the best way to go.

Scott says the cost to ship to Europe is the same to ship the same item to Canada. BULLSHIT. |

He's lied about the amount of toys being sold on numerous times. He said that once a toy is sold out on Matty's site, then they're all gone for good, which has pissed off fans who have broken toys they bought from Matty and can't be replaced. He didn't know where the cases of MOTU figures came from that were direct from Matty that appeared in Wal-Mart.
he said the hoverboard would be a 100% perfect replica to the movie prop. Instead we got a half size piece of shit with a standard sticker, aside from a lenticular design. The footstap isn't as robust as the real thing and would snap given a real tug. The hole isn't painted or filled and is just cast purple plastic. I've seen better hoverboards made by fans with a real skateboard and some paper plates than matty's sack of shit.
Then comes the biggest one. Castle Greyskull. Which they said would be big. Now they've cut the size down. According to ToyGuru, this is to cut costs.

He's been called out about it many times by fans at conventions and online, but he keeps hanging on by the skin of his teeth and coming up with more lies and sales pitches.

I'm generally not a hater, I'll give credit where it's due and if a person is real... then they have my respect. But in the past 4-5 years I have not found a reason to give Scott any props. I've tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but just can't. I'll admit it, I don't like the guy, I don't like his personality, I think he's a dork. --- Call me shallow, call me a hater... but the guy rubs me the wrong way and that coupled with the fact that he is directly involved with all aspects of MOTUC, I take it personal. The same goes for those who are in league with him. Val is also on my shit list, the way he runs the org --- like some kind of electronic concentration camp --- Not a good place to be open and honest. Pixel Dan is more of a, "on the fence" kinda guy but it doesn't matter because Dan is just a reviewer of toys and can't be held responsible. But back to TG ... The guy continues to amaze me with his antics. I just ... ... GGRRRRRR! LOL!

Another of his lies that really bugged me is when he started blaming the 4HM for stuff. First he said they sculpted the CG castle grate for fun. In an interview a couple of days later, they said they definitely did not sculpt it for fun.
Then he said it was the 4HM's idea for the Wind Raider port. Yet on the RGD, Cornboy said he didn't like it and will never use it.
Everyone loves the 4HM. TG sees that and is now using them a shield to hide behind.
Typical corporate weasel.

The start of this year, when club eternia was demanding subs, there were many up and down prices as well as the fact that now, all subs are final and you CANNOT cancel them. As well as pre-orders for the hoverboard and castle greyskull cannot be cancelled. Of course, when ToyGuru was called out on it, they were accepting cancellations.

I absolutely love that Bob Gale chimmed in about the Hoverboard after it's release, basically dis-endorsing it after seeing that it didn't live up to the hype. Poor guy bought like 10 of them too, probably to support it, not because he wanted 10 of them.  But your right Solo... how can they screw up the HB when they had the actual props to go by? LOL! --- on purpose, that's how. They cheaped out on it 100%. They are following suit by cheaping out on Castle Grayskull. Too bad, because I had high hopes they would at least TRY and make it epic... I wonder if they will eliminate the dungeon cell walls since the trap door doesn't open into it. |

First of all... if you don't know the difference between "hear" and "here", you shouldn't be a brand manager. Second... So based on his response, QC, CS, and shipping issues were clearly ignored in favor of creating character blogs to satisfy his need for attention.
Also, I thought he said shipping prices were beyond his control. Suddenly he's "on top of it" LOL! What a f_cking scumbag!

Scott Neitlich is the brand manager and analyst for mattel. He's responsible for loads of shitty decisions with their boys division. He started work for Mattel working as a writer for Hot Wheels before starting up MattyCollector.com
He's generally known for talking about MOTU, then lying about everything and changing things. He's repsonsible for all the shitty decisions regarding MOTUC, Ghostbusters, the Hover Board prop and the Green Lantern movie toyline.
