I went to the random Comic Book store (the only one in a 30 block radius) and spent a while wandering through the used toy section. AS I was leaving I happened to look at the bottom shelf under some used comics and saw a paint boxed set. Army Painter Mega Paint set. 32 paints, three washes, matt varnish, and 6 brushes. I know of army painter because they made dips for wargame miniatures but I have never used their paints. I looked at the back and the sticker said 27.99. Since that puts the paints slightly below walmart craft paint in price I figured what the hell. They are 18ml vellejo style bottles, and reviews say good things about them. The best part. This set retails for $125 bones. Happy birthday present to me. Have any of you guys used these? The company is French and is apparently founded by form GW and Vallejo employees.

I have started trying them out, I am liking them so far. The Barbarian flesh color is quite nice. A good warm Caucasian tone. It has nice coverage and is smooth. I did need to make a holder for them, the one thing I dislike about bottled paints is they fall over in the box. Maybe one day I will be able to afford the Vallejo carry case. But until then this is free and took me 20 minutes to make.
